Broken Dreams
Have you ever met up with the “Bad 3 D’s”?
- Disappointments
- Discouragements
- Difficulties
They can run rampant in life unleashing nuisances and leaving paths of destruction like the Tasmanian devil—- if you leave them unchecked.
Let me introduce you to the “Good 3 D’s”. I hope you can find encouragement too.
- Draw (near to God and He will draw near to you….James 4:8
- Divert ( ALL unwelcome negativity unless it brings something positive•
- Delight (yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. PS 37:4)
When I was growing up my favorite movie was Wizard of Oz so I think of Glenda the good witch –vs- the wicked witch of the west. Both are dueling for your attention and your heart. Will you chose to focus on the good or the bad?
Now, put on your God glasses and see the best He has in store for you. When you choose to see God’s best plan for your life you will see those bad D’s are not nearly the giants you previously thought they were and now you are armed with the good D’s to fight the good fight and overcome them turning yourself into a real champion.
You see, I can very well identify with loss in life. I have been known to be the encouraging one (among other nice accolades).
Over the years life has thrown me a few hard curve balls and I have had disappointments which has played a huge role in my outlook on life. Some days I am not the happy go lucky girl with the brush it off and suck it up attitude because those 3 bad D’s can overwhelm me.
My mission was always to be the one who persuaded others to look to the Lord for His comfort when those broken dreams came crashing in and you feel like doing an “about face” march. Oh so difficult it can be to recognize when it happens that it’s because. The problem is when your “there” you can’t see the horizon….even for those who live their lives for our sweet Jesus and out there for the world to see and learn from.
So pull up your boot straps and march onward. Put on your God glasses. Focus or re-focus whichever your case may be and seek the scriptures that point out how to do it.
Reset your nerve center toward the One who gives life and the mere image of putting on God your glasses gives you the power to march on to bigger and better things that His word tells us are coming.
#ShineOn!
